A Southern Illinois Girl Who Came Home

Rebecca left Southern Illinois for law school and a career in Pennsylvania. The work shaped her as an attorney, but this was still home.

From Carbondale to Pittsburgh—and back

Rebecca earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1998 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2001. After law school, she clerked for Judge Gerald R. Solomon of the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas and began private practice in 2003.

She spent 10 years practicing in Pennsylvania before returning to Southern Illinois. Today, she brings 25 years of legal experience to family law, probate / estate administration, and related matters.

What matters outside the courtroom

A divorce or dissolution of marriage can change where a child spends the weekend. An estate can leave one family member sorting through papers while everyone else waits for answers. Rebecca wants to understand the life behind the legal question before advising a client. She listens carefully and speaks plainly, even when the conversation is difficult.

Rebecca is a mother, and family is personal to her. Away from the office, you may find her outdoors, running, practicing yoga, or enjoying the Southern Illinois life she came home to.

Why she stayed

Rebecca built a career elsewhere and chose to bring that experience home. Today she works with Southern Illinois families through changes that reach far beyond a case file.
